(Charlotte, N.C.) Software Toolbox® today announced that it has released TOP Server, powered by Kepware, Version 5, available now to its client base and channel partners.

TOP Server Version 5 provides the device connectivity foundation for Software Toolbox’s broader, solution-oriented software offerings for HMI/SCADA integration, data integration and management, and Visual Studio .NET client application development. TOP Server Version 5 delivers a new architecture with new features and capabilities while providing existing users a seamless path forward with an easy-to-use user interface that retains a look and feel similarity to prior versions of TOP Server. TOP Server Version 5 delivers over 100 device drivers, support for the latest versions of Microsoft Windows, a split configuration and runtime that expands user flexibility and security options, multi-user Windows Terminal Services support, and new vertical industry suite licensing options.

The new vertical suites are: IT and Infrastructure Suite (SNMP, Ping, System Monitor, Modbus and UCON drivers), Building Automation Suite (BACnet, Modbus, UCON drivers), Power Distribution Suite (DNP, Modbus, UCON drivers), Oil and Gas Suite (ROC, ROC Plus, Modbus and Modbus like RTU protocols, UCON drivers), and the Manufacturing Suite (a collection of over 100 protocols typically found in manufacturing environments). Drivers may still be purchased separately. All protocols in an installation are supported by one instance of TOP Server, one OPC interface and one tag namespace, delivering easy configuration, common diagnostics and the lowest long-term TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).

John Weber, president of Software Toolbox Inc., commented, “We have been partners with Kepware for 14 years and have delivered its technology, as TOP Server, to thousands of clients in more than 70 countries. Users will find the seamless upgrade from their existing projects and new product functionality will save them engineering time, give them more connectivity options, and empower them to further leverage their investments in Software Toolbox’s products along with TOP Server, powered by Kepware, to maximize their automation software results.”

Roy Kok, vice president of sales and marketing for Kepware, adds, “Software Toolbox is our top reseller, our Wonderware Center of Excellence, and a valued partner. The company has collaborated with us over the last two years as we worked on Version 5 and has provided input as a major user of our technology as well as supported us as an early adopter and tester of our Version 5 technology.
