2010 NC Quality in Biopharma Conference to be hosted at NC State University’s BTEC

(Raleigh, N.C.) The second annual North Carolina, “Quality in BioPharma” Conference will be held May 20-21st 2010 at the Bioprocessing Technical Education Center at the Centennial Campus, NCSU in Raleigh, NC. The focus of the two-day event will be Environmental Monitoring in Biomanufacturing, and will have noteworthy talks, discussions, and networking events for professionals involved in the Quality, Manufacturing, Environmental Microbiology, and Process Engineering areas of the industry. James C. Greenwood, President and CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) will be speaking about the advancement of the biotechnology industry and how President Obama and the Congress are impacting the industry through legislation on healthcare reform, biosimilars, comparative effectiveness, reimbursement, FDA approval, SBIR and taxes and how BIO is working to shape public policy.

This conference follows on the successes of the 2009 Environmental Monitoring Conference held last June at United Therapeutics Corporation (www.unither.com) in Research Triangle Park. A strong focus will be placed on sharing best practices and hosting a number of round table discussions that started with the first annual event.
