(Research Triangle Park, N.C.) Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced it is collaborating with Hermon Labs TI to provide acoustic testing for GSM/CDMA/W-CDMA/3GPP wireless handsets. Hermon Labs TI uses Agilent’s 8960 wireless communications test set as a base station emulator while their TCA 4100 software controls and measures the tests according to TS 51.010-1, TS 26.131/2 acoustic standards. The combined test solution has been validated to comply with the TS standards, ensuring a high level of reliability and quality for acoustic conformance testing.
Since the conformance test processes have been validated on the Agilent 8960, all cellular formats are supported from one platform resulting in the most comprehensive and cost-effective acoustic test solution for 2G and 3G, including HSPA+, E-EDGE and eHRPD. All acoustic conformance tests are controlled from one turn-key solution with results exported into a convenient Microsoft(r) Word document.
“The close relationship between Agilent and Hermon Labs TI, using the Agilent 8960 and integrating our solutions together, provides a much better solution for our handset-manufacturer, laboratory and wireless-operator customers,” said Alex Usoskin, CEO of Hermon Labs.
“This is a strategic relationship for Agilent and Hermon Labs TI, and builds on our respective expertise to deliver a complete and cost-effective acoustic test solution that expands our test coverage for the wireless industry,” said Niels Faché, general manager of Agilent’s Mobile Broadband Operation.
