(Cary, N.C.) Internationally renowned business strategy expert Lea Strickland, MBA/CMA/CFM/CBM/GMC, was a featured author in the American Management Association’s industry-leading MWorld Magazine. Strickland’s 1,520 word article, “How to Grow Your Business, One Relationship at a Time” was published in the Summer/Fall issue of MWorld which also featured an article by Nobel Prize-Winning Economist Paul Krugman among others.

The American Management Association (AMA) is the world’s leading membership-based management development organization for individuals, teams, organizations and government agencies. The organization boasts over 85 years of experience delivering 140+ training seminars throughout the country in addition to business seminars, blended learning, webcasts, podcasts, conferences, books, whitepapers, articles and more for over 700,000 members and customers in the U.S. and internationally.

“MWorld is an outstanding publication and the American Management Association is an extraordinarily well-respected organization,” Strickland said, adding, “I was asked to write an article on the topic for them and their executive readers from across the country and overseas.”

In the article, Strickland discusses the challenge of C-level peer-to-peer networking in order to build a solid network to help a company or organization in an uncertain economic climate. She also addresses the challenges of using social media to connect and expand the circle of influence strictly on a peer-to-peer basis.

“Networking is really relationship marketing to generate leads and prospects, and that comes from strong relationships with decision-makers, something that isn’t always easy to establish,” Strickland said.

The MWorld article is one of several Strickland has authored which have appeared in national business and trade magazines in recent years. A prolific author, Strickland has written over 600 columns and op-ed pieces on topics related to effectively starting and growing a business; has published four books on business strategy; and publishes three popular business newsletters with a combined circulation of 18,000+. Her article, “How Will Check 21 Impact Your Business” has been solicited for inclusion in a professional certification examination study guide to be published by the International Accounts Payable Professionals Association.

Strickland recently participated as a featured expert at the second of a three-part grants workshop produced in partnership between the Council for Entrepreneurial Development and the Small Business & Technology Development Center on December 8 focused on starting and growing a company via local and federal grant funding; delivered the keynote address at the November 17, 2009 business conference Obtaining SUCCESS! Take Action Now in Winston-Salem; and was a featured panelist for the interactive discussion, “Compliance from Day One to Closeout – Fraud, Waste and Abuse” at the National Conference for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs in Reno, Nevada November 4, 2009.
