North Carolina Utilities Commission selects APX Renewable Energy tracking infrastructure

(Raleigh, N.C.) APX, Inc., the leading infrastructure provider for environmental and energy markets, is pleased to announce the North Carolina Utilities Commission has selected APX to provide registry services for the North Carolina Renewable Energy Tracking System (NC-RETS). NC-RETS will track each North Carolina electric power supplier’s compliance against its individual statutory requirement, and its contribution toward the statewide aggregate requirements for energy supplied by swine and poultry waste resources. NC-RETS will also track each electric power supplier’s use of energy efficiency to meet statutory requirements.

NC-RETS will allow for the import and export of renewable energy certificates (RECs) into and out of the North American Renewables Registry™ (NAR), and similar links will be established with additional registries.
