(San Jose, Calif.) Devro Medical Ltd., the premier collagen provider for the biomedical industry is continuing to showcase useful applications of the bio-friendly material through active participation in leading tradeshows this summer beginning with TERMIS June 13-17th in Galway, Ireland. The company just completed its spring slate of exhibition dates with the Society for Biomaterials Annual Meeting and Exhibition April 21-24 in Seattle, Wash.

Three high-profile events are on the calendar in June and July, with three more currently on tap in the U.S. and overseas before the end of the year. Demand for Devro Medical collagen from large and small medical device companies across a wide spectrum of industry sectors including orthopedics, wound care, dental, drug delivery, surgical products, and regenerative medicine is driving outreach efforts.

“Scientists and researchers seeking to improve availability of regenerative medicine products are increasingly looking to the multitude of applications of collagen in tissue repair in developing new implant materials, wound dressings, bone grafts and cell culture formulations,” Dr. Stewart White, technical operations manager for Devro Medical, said.

According to Dr. White, 20 years experience has kept Devro Medical at the forefront of innovations in the use of collagen in biomaterials science, implantable devices and now tissue engineering.

“Exhibiting and networking with peers in general sessions, symposia, workshops and panel discussions helps us share the collagen knowledge we’ve gained over the years in translating our customers scientific research into a commercialized medical product,” he said.

Highly evaluated by industry regulators and sought-after by scientific researchers, Devro Medical’s collagen is derived from pure bovine sources in Australia and processed to exacting standards and customer specifications. The company operates a clean room facility (Grade B and C) in Glasgow, Scotland for further technical processing and production of finished medical devices, and runs development and customer service operations out of a state-of-the-art research and development facility in San Jose, California.

Current Devro Medical tradeshow dates for the remainder of 2010 include:

Termis, June 13-17, Galway, Ireland
UK Society for Biomaterials, July 1-2, Glasgow, Scotland
