(NC Research Campus, Kannapolis, N.C.) The David H. Murdock Research Institute (DHMRI) is pleased to announce the arrival of its most recent member, Anita McCauley, PhD. She will oversee the light microscopy facilities, offering consultative, collaborative scientific client support on a part-time basis. She will also lead workshops to further enhance knowledge of the microscopy capabilities available at DHMRI.

McCauley comes to DHMRI with over 13 years of experience in microscopic imaging.  Most recently, McCauley worked as the Director of Microscopy for the Biology Department at Wake Forest University. There, she worked as a collaborator with other scientists offering assistance with grant writing, experimental design, image capture and analysis for light microscopy studies.  Through these experiences, she assisted scientists engaged in research across the biological and biophysical spectrum and has experience with many types of model systems and microscopy methods.

McCauley also taught and trained both undergraduate and graduate students in microscopy, most notably a graduate course on Microscopy in the Biological Sciences. McCauley has also organized large regional workshops on microscopy, offered many formal and informal seminars on microscopy tools and methods and served as a panelist on instrumentation grant review panels.
