CHARLOTTE, N.C.–National information technology (IT) infrastructure and cloud solutions provider Peak 10 Inc. announced the opening of its newest data center. The 14,000 square foot facility completes the first phase of Peak 10’s plans for a 64,000-square-foot technology campus in Charlotte, N.C. It is located in the David Taylor Corporate Center in the University Research Park area near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This is the company’s fourth data center in Charlotte. CARY, N.C. and NEW YORK, N.Y.–StraTech, a brand of Midas Medici Group Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: MMED), announced the closing of the transaction to sell the majority of its assets. Both StraTech and Datalink focus on optimizing enterprise data centers and IT infrastructure through common product and services portfolios designed to help customers increase business agility. Datalink purchased StraTech for a consideration of $20.25 million including the issuance of 269,802 shares of Datalink common stock, and subject to certain adjustments based on acquired assets and liabilities. Datalink assumed approximately $20.8 million of StraTech’s liabilities and acquired approximately $16.0 million of assets. As part of the transaction, Midas Medici also retained Stratech’s real-estate portfolio asset valued at $5.0 million and entered into a long term lease with Datalink for part of the available square footage. The closing of this transaction is subject to a final audit expected to be performed within the next 90-120 days. (more…)

Q: When did Immedion launch and why?
A: Immedion officially launched in 2007. We saw there was a need for data centers in midsized markets like Greenville S.C. At the time, full service data center providers were primarily located in “Tier 1” cities which are not always convenient for business located outside of the major metropolitan areas. I had been with Peak10 prior to starting Immedion and knew that customers in the midsize markets were hungry for the infrastructure benefits of large-scale data centers, but they wanted the comfort of personally knowing their service provider and being within close proximity to their servers. I started Immedion to provide customers with a single point of accountability, or “one throat to choke,” for the management of all their IT infrastructure needs. (more…)
