Freudenberg IT invests $38 million for growth

(Durham, N.C.) Freudenberg IT, the internationally active IT service provider, is launching operations at two new data centers simultaneously and expanding its capacity in the process. The Management Board of the Freudenberg Group has opened new data centers in the Weinheim, Germany and Durham, North Carolina, USA. This increases the total number of data centers to eleven that are now at the Group’s disposal in Europe, North America and Asia. The Group is preparing itself for already contracted and expected future growth with a total investment amounting to $38 million. (Richardson, Texas) Data centers—the backbone of most organizations’ computing and networking capabilities—are increasingly viewed as critical business priorities and, despite the current economic climate, receiving on-going investments to improve performance and reliability. According to the new Global Data Center Survey commissioned by CommScope, with contributing sponsors Brocade, Eaton and Intel, almost a third (32%) of all organizations surveyed worldwide are planning or building new data centers, while more than four out of five (83%) existing data centers continue to receive investment for infrastructure and technology projects. In the backdrop of the current economic environment, almost two thirds (65%) of respondents were required to demonstrate a specific return on the investment before their data center projects were approved.
