Sprint Foundation Donates $100,000 to Help Tornado Victims

(Overland Park, Kan.) The Sprint Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sprint (NYSE: S), has made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross in support of the recent tragic storms experienced by much of the southern United States. The donation will support the American Red Cross’ disaster-relief efforts to help those affected by tornadoes, floods and other forms of severe weather in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Economic Growth Arrived, App State Prof Says

Davis Ph.D,  NCBA Economist and Professor of Banking, Appalachian State University.  GDP growth is running about 3% on an annualized basis.  Unfortunately, the present rate of economic growth is about one half the average rate in the post World War II period. Shurtape Technologies Files FrogTape® Lawsuit

Shurtape Technologies, LLC, and ShurTech Brands, LLC, today have filed a lawsuit in federal district court for the Western District of North Carolina against 3M Company, St. Paul, Minn. The lawsuit alleges that 3M’s painter’s tape with Edge-Lock™ infringes Shurtape’s U.S. Patent No. 6,828,008, which covers Shurtape’s FrogTape® brand painter’s tape with PaintBlock® Technology (Shurtape’s “FrogTape® patent”). Specifically, Shurtape alleges that 3M’s Edge-Lock™ tape improperly incorporates an absorbent edge coating to minimize the movement of paint past a masking edge, a problem commonly referred to by painters as “bleed-through.” (more…)
