Triangle Home Medical Equipment Providers Rally for Jobs During President Obama Visit

Dozens of stakeholders from the Triangle’s home medical equipment (HME) industry grabbed homemade signs on Wednesday, September 14 and rallied for their survival around the corner from where President Obama touted his latest economic stimulus bill at a local business that outsources jobs to Costa Rica.  Organized by the North Carolina Association for Medical Equipment Services (NCAMES), the rally was designed to bring attention to Obama administration policies decimating home medical equipment providers and their employees, such as expansion of the disastrous Medicare bidding system for HME providers. Duke LifePoint Healthcare and Person Memorial Hospital Sign Definitive Agreement

Duke LifePoint Healthcare, a joint venture of Duke University Health System, Inc. and LifePoint Hospitals®, and the Person Memorial Hospital (PMH) Board of Trustees today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Duke LifePoint to acquire PMH. The transaction is expected to close within the next 60 to 90 days, subject to review and approval by the Attorney General of the State of North Carolina and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
