Stackpole Adds 2 Watt Size to Their LCB Series Ceramic Housed Current Sensing Wirewound Resistors

(Raleigh, N.C.) Stackpole has added a 2 watt size to their LCB Series of flameproof low resistance value ceramic housed wirewound resistors.  The LCBF2 adds to the broad line of current sensing resistors from Stackpole. The CBF and LCBF2 resistors also provide housings with standoffs to help reduce the temperatures seen by the PCB. The welded wirewound resistive element is available in values from 0.05 ohms to 0.33 ohms in 5% tolerance. (more…)

Carlisle to Sell German Rubber Components Unit

(Charlotte, N.C.) Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE:CSL) today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to sell the non-roofing and waterproofing unit of its German company, PDT Phoenix GmbH (“PDT”), to the Datwyler Group of Altdorf, Switzerland. The business unit makes elastomer profiles for use in applications for tunnels, rail, windows and facades and was acquired as part of Carlisle’s acquisition of PDT on August 1, 2011. Sales of the divested unit are approximately €35 million. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Carlisle will retain the roofing and waterproofing business as the European center for Carlisle Construction Materials. (more…)

Zinc Producer to Create 250 Jobs

Governor Bev Perdue announced this week that Horsehead Corporation, a leading U.S. environmental services provider and producer of specialty zinc and zinc-based products, plans to build a state-of-the-art zinc production facility in Rutherford County.
