Radiation Hardened Structured ASIC workshop attendees tape out multiple designs in four days

ViASIC Inc., a leading electronic design automation company that offers IP and services for reconfigurable semiconductor fabrics, today announced the results of the recently held Workshop on Radiation Hardened Structured ASIC design instantiation. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Micro-RDC and ViASIC sponsored this four-day workshop last month in Albuquerque, N.M. to allow attendees to begin with a functionally verified RTL circuit description and work through the design flow to produce a GDS-II file ready for fabrication. Triad Semiconductor and Z-Focus to demonstrate software-based real-time single-mode Bluetooth low energy data transfer

Triad Semiconductor and Z-Focus Technology Group will demonstrate the world’s first software-based, real-time Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) data transfer at ARM Techcon3 in Santa Clara, California from October 21-22, 2009. The demonstration, based on the BLE v0.9 prototyping specification, will wirelessly stream real time digitized signals from Triad’s new Mocha development system to a PC display. (more…)

(Cary, N.C.) CertifiGroup, a North Carolina testing laboratory, is offering special programs for US companies who are preparing to sell products in Europe. Since the creation of the “CE marking” system, it has become more obvious over the years that this was not just a “Free trade” arrangement for the countries in the European Union. In recent years, companies shipping products to European ports have had entire shipments delayed and even returned, for not bearing the CE mark, or for missing or incorrect paperwork. With these occurrences, it is now clear that these regulations were also intended to be a trade barrier for companies outside of the EU. (more…)

Semprius selected for $500,000 subcontract from U.S. Department of Energy

(Durham, N.C.) Semprius, Inc., a semiconductor technology company developing a novel transfer printing technology for the manufacture of advanced semiconductor devices, announced today it has been selected to negotiate a $500,000 subcontract award by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The total anticipated subcontracts under the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is $6 million. (more…)

Semprius raises $6.4 million Series B financing
