Innovation and commercialization expert Montie Roland recently served on an information technology panel discussing modeling and simulation at the North Carolina Advanced Technologies Forum July 17. The Symposium, focusing on the future advanced technology needs of DoD and other federal agencies, was hosted by U.S. Senator Richard Burr at The Friday Center in Chapel Hill and attracted approximately 400 attendees. “Having a ‘big picture’ mentality when focusing on something specific like modeling and simulation helps address changing business and technology issues, especially in the fluid military and defense space,” Roland, president of Montie Design, said. Montie Design Releases Portable RFID Field Detector

(Research Triangle Park, N.C.) The innovation and commercialization experts at Montie Design have come up with a new troubleshooting tool for original equipment manufacturers to successfully identify where their products’ RFID portals can, or can’t, read tags. The new RFID Field Detector targets the presence of the 900mHz signal emitted by RFID portals with the push of a button, conveniently showing where the RFID field is strong and where it is weak through a series of seven LED lights on the ultra-thin, simple tool.
